Now that I have bared my soul and shared with you the ways in which I might have inadvertently played my own little games in the previous article, I will share with you the ways in which the men that I have met through the different internet singles lines have played their little games.
First of all are the profiles that read, "not into head games." It has been my experience that they are into head games! Then they try to convince you that it is YOU who is playing the game.
Second, beware of the person who asks you what you do on the net besides email all your little friends.
Patronizing someone is not usually a good way to conduct a relationship that you want to last.
Beware of the person who wants to take over your whole life, and he hasn't even met you yet! Or the person who is coming to meet you and to whisk you off to live with them.
These people particularly appear to live in a fantasy world all of their own and are looking for someone to fit into a role they have created in their mind.
You probably should be aware of the fact that the person who critiques your email, corrects your spelling, and lectures you on email etiquette, is critical, anal, and views the relationship as an opportunity to "make you a better person!" If you think you need the help, go for it! If not, it might be wise not to continue even an email relationship.
I know I do not need to say this, but I am going to say it anyway...do not ever give anyone that you are corresponding with, your password or social security number.
There are people who will use them illegally.
Does this sound like to much work? Well, finding the person that you want to share your life with deserves the same amount of attention you would give to raising a child, or building a career.
Halfway measures will produce half-way results.
Be persistent, and have fun! Let me know what happens!
